Sgt William Baker, Gallipoli, & Battlefield Photography
Sgt. William “Digger” Baker emigrated to Australia and was one of the first to volunteer for service in the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign. Following Baker’s death, his family discovered an extraordinary treasure trove of never-before-seen photos he had taken during the battle.
Join historian Stephen J. Shaw for a discussion on the extraordinary insight Baker’s photographs give of the daily life of a World War I soldier on the battlefield.
