Brave place

Lancaster Public Library’s Brave Place is a resource lounge for patrons, from grade school through young adulthood, designed to help answer questions and navigate life’s hurdles in a safe and supportive environment.

In a world with increasingly unreliable resources online, the Brave Place provides reputable information about a wide range of childhood and adolescent experiences, from navigating family and social situations to exploring one’s identity.

Located on the second floor near the Young Adult library, the Brave Place is designed for ages 5-24, with information on a variety of topics including anxiety, bullying, grief, medical and mental health issues, food and housing insecurity, and expressing one’s authentic self, in a comfortable and safe environment.

Through this donor initiative, the Brave Place will offer support that can open a world of possibilities, while continuing to support LPL’s mission to inspires, empower, and strengthen our community by connecting people with information, ideas, and enriching experiences.
