Proctoring

The Duke St Business Center offers proctoring services at the Lancaster Public Library. The fee is $25 for the first 2 hours, and $25 for each additional hour. Payment is made by cash, credit card, or check after completion of the exam.

Proctoring is scheduled by appointment only. Please contact the librarian at least a week in advance to schedule. Proctoring is not available on Saturdays, and must be completed by closing.

The space provided for testing is in a quiet room, but please be aware that there may be ambient library and street noise. A librarian will be monitoring the test taker for the duration of the exam, and can fax, email, or mail completed exams. Mailed exams must be prepaid by the institution or student, and will be sent via USPS. Public computers with Internet and Microsoft Office are available for proctored exams.

It is the student’s responsibility to make all necessary arrangements with the institution and the Library. The Library will not contact the institution or instructor on the student’s behalf. The librarian will review all provided proctor instructions and confirm that the Library is an eligible testing location. Please note that not all institutions accept public libraries as testing locations, and that the Library may not meet all requirements.

Exams may be rescheduled in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen Library closings or emergencies. Refunds can only be given in case of these circumstances.

For questions, or to schedule an exam, contact the Business Reference Librarian at 717-394-2651 x131 or dsbc@lancasterpubliclibrary.org.
