Executive Director for the Lancaster Public Library
Do you have a passion for the library and its future in the community? The Lancaster Public Library is seeking an Executive Director. Responsibilities will include advancing and promoting the mission, policies and programs of the library and ensuring that the library is responsive to the changing needs of the community. The Executive Director will report directly to the LPL Board of Trustees.
Major Responsibilities include oversight of:
Education: Must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science
Experience: Knowledge and strong interest in emerging library technology trends and best practices. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Core competencies to include interpersonal communication and ability to interact with board of trustees, donors and city officials.
Personal Qualities: Ability to articulate passion and commitment to the library mission. Ability to manage and lead an organization through growth and change. Comfortable meeting with potential funding sources at the private, federal, state and local levels.
