LPL is partnering with Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health to help make the overdose reversal medication Narcan available to the Lancaster community.
Free Narcan kits are available at both Lancaster Public Library locations. Each kit includes two (2) doses of Naloxone and an instruction pamphlet.
Naloxone (Narcan) is a safe and legal medication that reverses an opioid overdose.
As part of National Recovery Month (September), Lancaster Public Library will host an Overdose Awareness & Narcan Training on Monday, September 19. A representative from Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health will explain how to detect an opioid overdose and how to use NarcanĀ to reverse an overdose.
The program will be offered TWICE — once at 12PM and again at 5:30PM. The programs are identical, but space is limited and registration is required.
