Book drops, library materials, fines, and other library services affected during the closure.
The external book drops at the Lancaster City & Mountville Branches are open! If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of illness, please wait until you’re feeling better to return your items. To guard against possible exposure, all returned materials will be quarantined for four (4) days before they are processed for circulation. Therefore, items may appear as “checked out” on your library account for up to seven (7) days after you return them.
All due dates have been extended to 7/16/20, and we will continue to push back due dates during the Yellow Phase.
All currently checked out items have been automatically renewed. There will be NO fines for overdue materials at this time.
NEW LIBRARY CARDS
During the Yellow Phase, Lancaster County residents can request a library card via email – email@example.com. Once our physical doors are reopened, patrons will be asked to complete the registration process in-person.
LIBRARY CARD EXPIRATION DATES
If your library card is about to expire, don’t worry. We have pushed expiration dates to September 1. If your library card is expired, email us to request an extension.
All holds placed before the library closure on March 13 are now cancelled. Due to the limitations of the library database software, there was no easy way to fulfill existing patron holds while allowing for the safe and timely handling of library materials. We regret any inconvenience this causes you.
