Library Services and COVID-19

Library materials, book drops, fees, and other library services affected during the closure.

DUE DATES
All book drops are closed, and NO library materials will be due during the closure. All due dates have been extended to 7/16/20, and we will continue to push back due dates during the Yellow Phase.

OVERDUE FINES
All currently checked out items have been automatically renewed, so NO overdue fees will accrue during the closure.

NEW LIBRARY CARDS
During LPL’s closure, Lancaster County residents can request a library card via email – askus@lancasterpubliclibrary.org. Once our physical doors are reopened, patrons will be asked to complete the registration process in-person.

LIBRARY CARD EXPIRATIONS
If your library card is about to expire, don’t worry. We have pushed expiration dates to September 1.

AFTER THE CLOSURE
There will be a grace period to return items when the library reopens.
