We have instituted changes to the way we are delivering library services.
The external book drops at the Lancaster City & Mountville Branches are open! For quarantine purposes, the indoor book drops are closed. Please use the outside book drops for all returns. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of illness, please wait until you’re feeling better to return your items. To guard against possible exposure, all returned materials will be quarantined for seven (7) days before they are processed for circulation. Therefore, items may appear as “checked out” on your library account for more than a week after you return them. Please do not renew returned materials. When the materials are checked in they will reflect your actual return date.
The library’s extension on due dates has expired. Patrons will receive a due date notice (as was the practice prior to the closures), but you can also check due dates online via “My Account”. If you need additional assistance, please call your local library.
The Lancaster City and Mountville Branches are open for express visits. You are welcome to enter the building (no appointment necessary) to pick out your own books, DVDs, and CDs, as well as use the public computers or print & make copies. We do ask that you keep your visit quick – aim for 30 minutes max!
GRAB BAGS – Available at the Lancaster City Branch
Are you looking for something new to read? With your input, our well read library staff will select an assortment of titles for you. Simply fill out the form, and we will handpick a Grab Bag of titles from our shelves especially for you. We will notify you via email when the bag is ready & waiting for you on the Hold Shelf at the Lancaster City Branch.
Patrons can visit the online catalog and log into “My Account” to search for items and place holds. Items may take longer than usual to arrive and, in some cases, may not be available.
LIBRARY CARD EXPIRATION DATES
To renew your expired library card, visit your local library with identification/proof of address.
