Winter Reading

‘Tis the season for snuggling up with a good book

Cozy up to a Lancaster winter with our Winter Reading Challenge!

December 1 – January 31

Winter weather will be here before we know it.

That means cold, dark evenings that are perfect for spending time with a good book ❄️📚

Read to your heart’s content then pick up a review bookmark at either Lancaster Public Library location, fill it out, and return it for a chance to win prizes!

18+ please.

Don’t worry, kids! We won’t let the grown-ups have all the fun. This winter, you get to

Read for the Bead!

How it works:

  1. Visit either Lancaster Public Library location to pick up a Winter Reading Challenge tracking/registration sheet
  2. Track the number of minutes you read between December 1 and January 31
  3. Receive a bead for every 15 minutes you read
  4. Things get interesting each time children complete two full hours of reading! That’s when the bonus “special” beads make an appearance!
  5. Return to either LPL location with your tracking sheet to get your chain & brag tag

⭐ Remember to redeem your reading time for beads each visit to the library!

Can you read for a total of 24 hours to fill your chain and earn all 96 regular beads and 12 special beads?
